This is another item on our advent calendar — it's something I've needed more than a few times: gift certificates for digital gifts.
The great thing about buying a digital gift, like an audio book, independent movie or set of apps (all of which I've bought for people) is that they don't take up space, perfect for those people on my list who don't want any more "things", just experiences. They are also great last-minute gifts. However, there's not a nice way to present it — you don't want to just tell the person next to the Christmas tree, you want them to see their gift right away! Gifting apps is the trickiest — you can send a general gift certificate directly from the app store, but how do you recommend one in particular? I've emailed people lists, but it doesn't feel very gift-y.
It's important to let people know to check their email, as they might miss an emailed certificate if they don't know to look for it.
Here is a set of printable gift certificates to show off your purchase with a little style and give the important information to your giftee. These will also let your recipient know that they should check their email, which is important, since people often miss emails from the companies providing the download if they're not looking out for them. Finally, this is a great option for a super-last-minute gift, if you need one :)
Do you have any request or suggestions for a certificate? Let us know in the comments, we'd love to hear from you.
